From the ABC Community Schools:

“Exciting news for Del Norte High School! Local trade union UA 412 is expanding into the school, opening up new hands-on career pathways for students right here in Albuquerque.

This program first launched last year at West Mesa High School and is now growing to Del Norte as part of the community school strategy—bringing schools, partners, and students together to strengthen communities.

The expansion is made possible through Youth Civic Infrastructure (YCI) funding from Future Focused Education which supports partnerships between schools and nonprofits so students can learn by tackling real-world challenges. YCI helps young people grow their skills, deepen their sense of belonging, and lead positive change in their communities.

Opportunities like these show how community schools can anchor thriving neighborhoods. So glad to see our students gaining more pathways to success!”
