“Community schools in California significantly improved test scores while reducing rates of absenteeism and suspensions in their first year, according to a new report by the Learning Policy Institute.
The report used statewide data from the 2023-24 school year to study how nearly 2,500 community schools fared at improving school attendance and academic achievement following the Covid-19 pandemic. Since 2021, the state has invested roughly $4.1 billion in the California Community Schools Partnership Program, a strategy aimed at improving learning and well-being outcomes in students through partnerships between schools and local agencies.”
