“When it comes to achieving students’ literacy and math goals, everyone has a role to play: teachers, principals, families, Community School Coordinators (CSC), community partners, aides, school staff, community members–you get the picture. Everyone means everyone. But all too often we don’t take the opportunity to engage a wide range of people in understanding and helping us achieve our academic goals. I’m going to share some experiences I’ve had engaging a range of interest holders in supporting academic goals. While I am sharing strategies that center on math and literacy in elementary grades, there are ideas here that can be adopted or adapted in middle and high school settings, and for other types of academic goals.”
