“California’s continued investment in community schools through the Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) apportionment in the state budget creates an important opportunity for school districts to think beyond individual sites and toward answering a more ambitious question: What would it take to build a full community school district? Hint: it takes more than having all your eligible school sites opt in to the funding.
A full community school district is one in which every school functions as a community school, regardless of the funding or resources supporting their work. These districts are sometimes called “full-service community school districts.” The point is, regardless of how it’s funded, some districts have been able to create a system where all of their schools are community schools. Across the district, community and neighborhoods.”
