An Albuquerque high school gets attention from Washington leaders

“The United States Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona and U.S. Representative Melanie Stansbury toured Atrisco Heritage High School in the South Valley.

They learned about the community school model and the wrap-around services offered to students and families.

“This is one of the best examples of a community school that invests in the whole family, the whole child and the whole student,” said Stansbury.

After visiting the school’s community health clinic and a culinary arts class – Cardona and Stansbury participated in a conversation with students, parents and educators about their experience at Atrisco Heritage High School.”
