“This week we join with community schools nationwide to celebrate Community School Coordinator Appreciation Week! Community school coordinators are the linchpin of full service community schools and work collaboratively with school principals and other school support staff to design, develop and implement Community School programming including family and student support services, health services, enrichment activities including afterschool and summer programs, family and community engagement activities, and so much more! We are grateful for Coordinators and the impact they have on students, families and communities.

Afterschool programs are key a pillar of community schools and the partnerships between afterschool programs and community schools have become essential drivers of student engagement, whole-child development, and community empowerment. These two models—while distinct in structure—share a powerful common purpose: to provide holistic support that extends beyond the traditional school day, ensuring students are safe, engaged, and learning after the last bell rings.”
