Webinar:CS Reading on Grade Level by 3rd Grade

Research is clear– if students are not reading by the end of the 3rd grade, their outcomes for academic success are less likely.

This webinar discussion explores how community schools are working to move the needle on reading by the end of 3rd grade to ensure that our young people are successful. This discussion offers perspectives from Foundations, Inc. and community school leaders from the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County (ABC) Community Schools Partnership. Kwesi Rollins, from the Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL), provides an overview of IEL’s work on the Early Childhood and Community Schools Linkages Project, highlighting how community schools from across the nation are addressing indicators such as Reading (on grade level) by 3rd grade. The Linkages Project is exploring how to align systems through a process model that is based on collaboration and shared decision-making to support community schools for systemic change.
