Community schools bring together school and community to support student success. Learn more about community schools and how they support our nation’s education goals at a special event celebrating the winners of the 2007 Community Schools National Awards for Excellence.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, who recently introduced the Full Service Community Schools Act, will speak. A policy conversation will follow with leaders representing the awardees:

Joseph Starinieri, Principal: Sayre High School
These leaders will discuss the results they are achieving for young people, their families and their communities. They will share their insights on why community support is essential to achieving our national education goals. Parents also will comment.
