Standing with Hunger Strikers, Dyett High School

Standing with Hunger Strikers for Dyett Community High School Plan

August 26, 2015

After Chicago Public Schools continued to delay the decision to turn Dyett High School into a sustainable community school, the community began a hunger strike starting August 17th. The Coalition stands with our partners and friends at Dyett who are risking their well-being in their quest for a high performing community school. If community engagement is to be realized, school systems must learn to respect the views of parents and neighborhood leaders as they make decisions.
