2016 marked an exciting year of growth, emerging state coalitions, supportive policy, stronger connections with health,  and the Coalition’s largest National Forum to date. As we enter  2017, the federal education landscape is uncertain, but we believe the momentum for community schools from the local and state levels will continue to grow as communities increasingly see that results-focused partnerships are critical to young people’s success. Community Schools Research: What We Know and What We Need to Know

A new article from the, Review of Educational Research entitled, "Community Schools: What We Know and What We Need to Know, " examines the state of emerging community schools research and concludes that, "overall, the literature suggests that students benefit from community school activities" and makes recommendations for future research initiatives.
