Overview

Initiated and led by the Dayton Foundation from 2006-2011, the Neighborhood School Centers is now an innovative educational partnership led by Dayton Public Schools (DPS). This partnership brings together five Dayton Public Elementary Schools, non-profit agencies and the Fitz Center for Leadership in Community at the University of Dayton with the aim of realizing educational achievement, supporting the success of young people, engaging parents, and building positive community support. The partnership links DPS elementary schools with lead non-profit agencies while the Fitz Center plays an intermediary role of supporting the School Teams at the five Neighborhood School Centers. The principal provides leadership at the site level with the site coordinator and Community Education Council (CEC).
