California School Administrators Take Note of Community School Movement

The community school movement is exploding in California.
San Francisco, Oakland, and Los Angeles and a handful of other localities are ramping up and/or expanding their community school initiatives.
Recognizing the growing support for community schools, the Association of California School Administrators published a feature story in its monthly Leadership magazine.
The entire issue is dedicated to family and community involvement in narrowing achievement gaps but ACSA President Alice Petrossian said that community schools will be a significant topic of ACSA in the coming weeks.
