The president of the nation’s largest teachers union calls for leaders everywhere to adopt the community school model, calling it the best way to create the ideal conditions for teaching and learning in a new commentary in the Huffington Post. The article, which also ran in the New York Time, is a roaring and wholehearted endorsement of the community school approach as educators across the country try to mitigate the effects of poverty on student achievement and budget austerity in school funding.
