Alignment Nashville Champions Glencliff High School, CS Award Winner!

Last Thursday morning, in a crowded room inside the US Capitol in Washington D.C., the leadership team of Glencliff High School was presented the 2011 National Community Schools Award of Excellence from the Institute of Educational Leadership/Coalition for Community Schools. Glencliff was the only high school in the nation to be recognized this year.
Congressman Jim Cooper spoke and co-presented the award to Glencliff. Brandon Ball of Senator Lamar Alexander’s office was also in attendance. Accepting the award on behalf of Glencliff High School was Executive Principal Tony Majors, Parent and Community Engagement Specialist Gini Pupo-Walker and Academy Coach Alison McArthur. This leadership team was accompanied by other members of the Glencliff staff along with community partners Kimberly Harrell and Liz Aleman of Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Joey Hassell of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and Glen Biggs and Anthony Johnson of Alignment Nashville.
