2011 National Community Schools Advocacy Day
On June 15- 16, 2011, the Coalition invites you to join peers from across the Nation to educate your Members of Congress on the community school strategy and illustrate to them how our work is leading to families and students success. We call on you to share your experiences urging Members to ensure that more community schools are able to flourish in thousands of communities.
Your presence and power at this important event will help push pending bills that support community schools: DIPLOMA, FSCS, and the Supporting Community School Acts. REGISTER NOW to Participate in Advocacy day! The Preliminary Agenda is:
June 15th
- 12pm- Welcome lunch
- 1 pm– 5pm– Advocacy Training & Policy Briefing (Location: TBD)
- Community schools Awardees Dinner
June 16th
- 8:00am- Advocacy Day Kick-off with the National Community School Awards for Excellence Ceremony (Location: TBD) Members of Congress and Key Staff from the Administration have been invited to give brief remarks
- 10:30am- Hill visits
- 2:00 pm– 4:00pm Reconvene to debrief (American Federation of Teachers, 555 New Jersey Ave., N.W. Washington, DC 20001)
